Supporting ongoing innovation with agility and traceability
Global aluminium producer Norsk Hydro relies on the strength and agility of Emisoft to support environmental data management & ongoing innovation.
During the global economic crisis of 2008, the price of aluminium fell so much that one of the world’s most efficient producers, Norsk Hydro, faced operating at a loss if they continued business as usual. Instead, the following year the company launched The $300 Program, which aimed to cut $300 from the production cost of every tonne of aluminium.
Hydro turned to Emisoft, their chosen partner for environmental data management and reporting since 2007, to help thoroughly evaluate their Norwegian operations from an environmental perspective and identify areas for improvement.
“Managing the environmental performance of Hydro involves large amounts of environmental data and calculations,” says Wenche Hals Kulset, senior engineer at Norsk Hydro. “Emisoft is a very good partner here. They have understood our unique problems and challenges, and the system is always evolving, which is important for us.”
Discover how Hydro achieved its $300 Program goal and how they continue to rely on Emisoft to help evaluate and evolve their efficiency goals.
